Before 1889, .44 caliber, the tang behind hammer marked REMINGTON & SONS, ILION N.Y. U.S.A. with last patent date being MARCH 16th 1884 (weak date impression); barrel 34-5/8 in. from bore to receiver, walnut stock with three barrel bands, front and rear sights, two sling swivels.
Many Remington rolling blocks were exported to foreign governments and are marked accordingly. This gun only carries Remington marks.
Working action; light oxidation to metal; wear to stock; left side of butt with incised "PP," overall good condition.
