A Black Forest Carved Tantalus Case

Late 19th-early 20th century, multi-hinged form in carved wood and glass, lid featuring a spread winged bird of prey proudly clutching hare atop a rocky precipice, with radial burst lid border surrounding the scene, above a four glass panel body raised on four feet, unmarked.
