Billy Ray Hussey (Randolph County, NC, b. 1955), Two Animal Sculptures

Earthenware, both modeled seated upon a stump, the bear holds a honey pot and dips with its paw, inscribed on the underside "Life is so Sweet" "BH 12" (7 1/2 in.). The second is a monkey, Albany slip glaze, holding a jug, inscribed on the underside, "BH 3" (7 1/4 in.)
