Late 19th or early 20th century, a heavy carved wood, possibly zitan, four panel screen carved with plum blossoms to the border and ornate finials of double dragons amidst swirling clouds, each panel has a narrow painting on silk of elegant beautiful women in Tang dynasty style dress painted in lush outdoor gardens and terraces, framed under glass.
35 1/4 x 24 in.
Some loss to carving above one panel; repair to dragon carving on top of another panel; silk paintings have even overall even toning; one silk panel has some minor discoloration and a tear at lower area; paintings not examined outside of the frame.
