Dawn Fryling is a San Francisco artist who practices photography, sculpture, video, conceptual and performance art. For the Toast series, she figuratively places each piece of toast on a pedestal, elevating it from its ordinary role as breakfast food to an object worthy of being photographed and framed. These photographs are unique works; each is one-of-a-kind and depicts different pieces of bread toasted by Fryling.
