Jane began and ended her life in Durham, graduating from Durham High and going on to study graphic design at the University of Georgia. She then returned to North Carolina and joined the vibrant art community in Asheville. S. Tucker Cooke, an art professor at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, became a mentor and friend and significantly influenced her painterly style. After working as a painter in Asheville for some years, Jane moved back to Durham, continuing to paint and supporting herself with graphic design and interior design work.
Jane's artistic talents were showcased not only in her two-dimensional works, but also in her photographic compositions, her gardens and her kitchen.
Good estate condition.
