Mid-19th century, a young farmworker having just cut a bunch of grapes sits upon a barrel, the lid of which is the face of a time and strike clock with Roman numerals; the central sculpture surmounts a pierced foliate base with additional items associated with the grape harvest such a a tambourine, two horns and crossed thyrsi of Dionysius.

The gilt is largely intact and no decorative elements appear to be missing; the clock lacks its key and is presently not working.
