Albany slip glazed stoneware displaying bands of blue-white rutile coloration, one gallon size, having a short collar with inner rim, three inscribed bands at the upper shoulder, Stamped "SLH" over the capacity mark (faint) "1".

Collection of a Gentleman, Greensboro, North Carolina The mineral rutile, when in a reduction atmosphere, combines with iron in the clay to produce the blue-white coloration.
Tight hairline extends 2 1/4 in. downwards from the rim; glaze scrape to the exterior of the collar.
