This is one of Toulouse-Lautrec's most famous lithographs, and he depicts the entertainer, singer, and dancer, Marcelle Lender, at the height of her stardom. Lautrec was enamored with Lender, and purportedly attended 20 performances of the comic opera Chilpéric - night after night - to watch her on stage and see her final bolero. She is shown here mid-performance while singing.

This is a technically complicated lithograph, as Lautrec used eight separate plates for various colors. He uses these plates to capture the vibrant and alluring colors he witnessed on stage, including Lender's multi-layered pink and green tulle skirts and the red poppies affixed to her headdress.

Overall very good condition; some slight margin yellowing; not examined out of frame.
