Frank Gaskill brant decoys are highly desired by collectors. His work influenced many other waterman who served at the Life Saving Station on Portsmouth Island. Most of his decoys were carved in a swimming form which provides the collector a sense of movement while the decoy rests on the shelf. Many of his decoys received hard use and this example remains in remarkable structural condition.
