Jim Buck was the son of Solomon Beasley. He made some classic decoys which had prominent wooden keels. This example began as a scaup which had an added cheek patch to serve as a ruddy. A rig mate is published on page 252 of
Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.
Original paint on body, cheek patch added later but very old, hit by shot.
