Wood fired stoneware, natural ash glaze, featuring a molded collar above an ovoid tapered body highlighted by all around attractive glaze drips, impressed stamp "DS" on the underside.

Stuempfle considers his work to be an amalgam of the traditional and the contemporary, influenced by his travels inEurope and Asia. Some credits are: US/Japan Creative Artists Fellowship recipient, NEA/Central and Eastern Europe Visual Arts Fellowship recipient.
