Born in Philadelphia, Deborah Souders grew up in Frederick, Maryland. Coming from a family of artists, she went on to earn a BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and an MFA from Towson University. Debby had a successful career as a nationally recognized artist beginning in Frederick and continuing in Philadelphia where she spent the last six years of her life. She was also a dedicated teacher, educating students at academic institutions and in community workshops in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
