Private Collection, Chapel Hill, North Carolina The book is inscribed to "Catherine Inge from Bernard Shaw 30/11/32." Pasted to the free endpaper is a telegram from Shaw to "My dear Mrs. Inge" discussing music at St. Paul's Cathedral in London as well as the publication of his book and its "fascinating pictures." [Mary] Catherine Inge was the wife of William Ralph Inge, the dean of St. Paul's. Taped to the half-title beneath the inscription is a note, presumably from Mrs. Inge, stating that this book was lent to the [National Book League] exhibition in London in 1946 celebrating Shaw's 90th birthday. Both Shaw and Inge would pass away a few years later, 1950 and 1949 respectively.
