Jamestown, North Carolina, circa 1850s, .36 cal., 40.5 in. octagonal barrel stamped S.H. WARD behind the rear sight, tiger maple stock with silver inlays, brass trigger guard and ramrod pipes; incised checkering at wrist, double-set triggers, engraved toe plate, patch box; the ramrod is present.

Overall length 56.75 in.

An attractive rifle with a lot of decorative enhancement.

Very good condition, working repair to wrist, minor scuffing to stock, light pitting and oxidation to receiver and barrel.
