A Collection of Six 19th Century Silhouettes

Last quarter 19th century, full length silhouettes, the first watercolor on bristol, depicting a young woman facing left, wearing a Victorian dress and bonnet and holding a book with gilt, with London supplier's stamp to upper left, verso pencil inscribed "Sept 4th, 1886" (14 1/4 x 12 in.). The remaining (5) are cut-out silhouettes with "bronzed" heightening, all uniformly framed with black matting, including (2) of "William Henry Mountain" dressed in formal attire, one depicting the sitter with top hat (14 3/4 x 10 5/8 in.), the other with hat in hand (10 3/4 x 15 3/4 in.); the next three are of women facing right and seated in chair, including "Mrs. Agnes Mountain" (14 1/2 x 12 1/2 in.), "Mrs. Margaret Morgan / Wife of John Morgan" (14 3/4 x 11 3/4 in.), and a "Juliana Dr. Kay B[unyan?]" (16 7/8 x 12 3/4 in.). Agnes silhouette with ink inscription regarding likeness to verso, otherwise all unsigned.

Toning and some foxing to sheet; Juliana with tear to lower left sheet backing; minor wear to frames; (5) cut silhouettes in later frames; frame glass for painted sillhouette with some loss.
