Paris, first quarter 19th century, white enamel dial signed
S. Malsan & C[ie] / A PARIS, eight-day time and strike movement with silk thread suspension numbered 553C, set within a rectangular monument with sculptural group figuring Erato seated atop and playing Apollo’s lyre or kithara, to the right Eros holds a tablet with music, to the left a pair of doves perch on a floral filled urn and triangular pedestal, all raised on a rectangular sarcophagus form plinth with relief scene of Erato's coronation, raised on ball feet. Includes pendulum, key, and custom acrylic display cloche.
Clock 20 3/4 x 15 x 5 3/4 in.; cloche 23 x 16 x 7 in.
