U.S. Model 1816 Remington Maynard Conversion Musket

.69 caliber, 42 in. round barrel stamped "24" six inches in front of breech, the tang dated 1857; walnut stock with iron mounts; the Maynard tape primer is a prominent addition to the lockplate, which reads REMINGTON'S / ILION N.Y. / 1857/ U.S.; most hardware is stamped with the numeral "8"; an "R" is on the fore end of the trigger guard. Bayonet is included.
