Serial number 6756, .45-70 caliber, 32-5/8 in. round barrel fitted with Buffington rear sight; case hardened breechblock; lock marked with U.S. SPRINGFIELD and eagle; walnut stock with illegible inspector's cartouche on side and a circled "P" mark behind the trigger guard tang.
