Duane Raver (NC, 1927 - 2022), Gray Squirrel and Great Horned Owl Plaque

Garner, North Carolina, 1979, hand painted grey squirrel and great horned owl on pinewood plaques, both signed D. RAVER on front and GRAY SQUIRREL / DUANE RAVER / 10-27-79 and GREAT HORNED OWL / DUANE RAVER / 10-27-79 on back.

Raver was a fish biologist and go-to illustrator for North Carolina's wildlife programs. In 2021, The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission presented Duane Raver with the Thomas L. Quay Wildlife Diversity Award. His original works of art are considered North Carolina treasure.

Good condition, light soil on top edges of plaque.
