A contemporary black powder re-issue of the classic Civil War long arm, serial number 4498, dated 1861, 40 in. round barrel with blued double-leaf sight, V / P/ eagle head proofs at breech; dated lockplate with U. S. / COLT'S PTF A. MFG Co./ HARTFORD, CT., bright finish throughout; the triggerguard stamped with Sam Colt signature; three bands, walnut stock with AFT inspector's cartouche; includes correct tulip head ramrod and fitted with leather sling.
