Paris, first-half 19th century, cast in the Empire taste figuring a classical maiden with floral crown and flowing shawl, seated upon a patinated rockwork monument, eight-day time and strike movement with silk thread suspension and exterior count wheel, stamped
Raingo Feres / Paris to verso and numbered 2631 / 56, with round dial having floral and engine turned decoration, gilt sarcophagus base with floral garland mount, raised on floral medallion feet. Includes pendulum, key, and acrylic display cloche.
Clock 20 1/2 x 13 x 5 1/4 in.; cloche 23 x 16 x 8 in.
From the Collection of Ed Neal, Oxford, North Carolina Good estate condition; movement operating hands and chime at time of review; some scattered rubbing to patina and gilt; light scratch to dial lower left; gilt base with some shallow denting and one very small hairline to upper edge of lower obverse terrace.
