Troy, New York (founded in 1862), first a traveling boxed set of nickel-plated Pint, 1/2 Pint, and Gill size portable measures for sealer use, circa 1910, with glass slicker and a 2 oz. etched glass footed graduate, Gurley Catalog No. 9934, within a fitted poplar case with leather strap, labeled to interior lid (7 x 11 1/2 x 9 1/4 in.); the second an early 20th century brass surveyors compass, inscribed
W & L.E. Gurley, Troy, N.Y. to dial. (15 x 6 x 10 in.).
From the Collection of Quincy and Betty Scarborough, Fayetteville, North Carolina Compass with some spotting and surface wear to brass, one arm with slight bend; missing dial hand and glass dial cover; cased set missing quart measure, some surface scuffs to box and leather strap commensurate with age.
