18th century, Bursa or Istanbul, silk, vermilion red with central turquoise velvet medallion with leaf and fruit motifs, corner clusters of leaf and fruit motifs, surrounded by stars and border of scrolling leaves and fruits; the second textile slightly shorter than the first, each with rings sewn to back for hanging purposes.
