Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Churches Island, North Carolina, circa 1940s, painted canvas over wire construction.
Length 22.5 in.
Thomas Caroon made a stand of decoys in the 1940s which were patterned after Ned Burgess canvas geese. These geese are difficult to distinguish between the two but a dowel rod that runs through the neck of Caroon geese identifies his work.
Original paint with some soiling to surface.
