From the Collection of Sharon Sullivan, Mexico/US 1965-85 For the 1968 Summer Olympic Games in Mexico, this was the official dress for the
Edecáns, or employees hired to engage in many aspects of the games. These uniforms were color-coded, the orange dress indicating an association with the press office. Wearers of it escorted reporters and Olympic athletes to events throughout the games. The graphics draw on motifs from prehistoric Mesoamerican Olmec culture, while also referencing the style of contemporary Op-art artists.
Cape with light toning and very minor staining to liner and exterior. Dress in good condition with scattered minor stains and spotting, and a small hole to center of dress.
