Late 18th-19th century, watercolor on ivory, the first an expressive tondo portrait of a French officer attired in military uniform on a mauve ground, the verso mounted in vellum and ink inscribed
Enfantin 1799, with later inscription beneath identifying sitter as
Charle Ferdinand Baron de St. Claire / Colonel de Calvalri / Mort 26 Ockotbre 1849; the second possibly Austrian, circa 1790s, unsigned, oval format depicting a bewigged sitter in a blue coat with red facings, interior backed with red diamonds playing card. Each presented behind glass in a metal locket frame.
