Providence, second quarter 19th century, original black and reddish brown textured paint with gold and stenciled highlights, arched turned crest rail, shaped back splat, cane seat, ring turned front legs, double box stretcher base, retaining the original paper label to underside front seat rail.

34.5 x 18 x 16 in., seat height 18 in.

Later cane seat; expected areas of paint loss especially at the edges; good tight joinery.
