Continental School (19th Century), Miniature of a Young Lady, Signed Gebhard

Circa 1860, watercolor on ivory, signed Gebhard to upper right, attributed to Johann Nepomuk Gebhard[t] (Austrian, 1798-1871), a masterful rendering of a beautiful young woman attired in pink dress, seated within a verdant landscape and holding pink roses, presented behind glass in a period ebonized frame. The framing interior backing ink inscribed 42 Liz.
