Aldus Manutius the Younger was the grandson of Aldus Manutius and he took over the Aldine Press from his father Paulus after his death. In this book he discusses the life of Castruccio Castracani degli Antelminelli (1281-1328), a condottiere and Duke of Lucca. Castracani's life inspired many writers and scholars besides Manutius, including Machiavelli.
