From the Collection of Professor Roberto Severino, Washington, D.C. Antonio Minturno (Italian, 1500-1574) was a Renaissance poet, bishop, and humanist who wrote poetry in both Latin and Italian.
De Poeta is a treatise divided into six books.
Vellum with expected discoloration and wear, lacking ties, with one small tear in vellum at yapp edge; sturdy binding; tiny wormholes in vellum and paste-downs, several pages with tiny to small wormholes; pages lightly toned with scattered foxing, occasional small stain, edge or corner loss, manuscript on front paste-down and title page, stamp on title page, colophon verso with bookplate and stamp, with repairs to F1, significant loss to R3; pages overall clean and crisp, lacking endpapers otherwise complete. A very good copy of this extremely scarce title.
