Antique American Cased Surgical Kit, Signed Hart New York

Late 19th century, mahogany case with brass inlayed escutcheon and plaque, opens to a velvet fitted interior signed HART/ NEW YORK with steel instruments, many with carved ebonized handles, most with mark of A. H. Hart, a few smaller instruments with marks by various makers including Tiemann and Truax, Greene & Co., among others.

Some spotting and a few areas of light rust; a few areas of wear to handles including some cracks to handles; scratches and wear to case exterior and interior; tight crack near case hinge; ribbon label detached at one end.
