Two Drabware pottery plates by Thomas Lakin, (1769-1821), one plate bears a small impressed "Lakin" stamp to the underside.(10 1/2 in.) and a Wedgwood serving plate carved with a central sunflower, date mark 1874 and "Wedgwood" stamp (10 1/2 in.).
From a Private Collection, Washington, D.C. Lakin spent his working life in the Leeds and Staffordshire potteries. He also worked a number of years for John Davenport.
Plate with leaves has upper edge chips as well as several base rim chips. Wedgwood plate has all around upper rim nicks and roughness.
