Meiji period (1868-1912), a two-part form with a molded and polychrome and gilt-painted exterior that opens to reveal the interior lid painted with figures in a landscape and the base depicting an interior scene, against an ivory-colored ground with fine crackle, with gilt painted inscription to verso of base.
