John Cuthbert Hare studied at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and the Art Students League in Manhattan. The watercolorist predominantly known for his New England seascapes and harbor scenes. He spent most summers in Cape Cod, Massachusetts but also spent time in Florida. His work is in the collections of the Lowe Art Museum, the Lightner Museum in Florida, and the Smith College Museum of Art in Massachusetts.
