From the Personal Collection of Mr. Kroghie Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina

Former collection of Philip Harvey. He purchased it in 1983 from Vickie Midgett, Pharoah's granddaughter.

Midgett was born and raised in the small community of south Rodanthe, which would later be named Salvo. He market hunted the reefs out in the sound. None of his duck decoys survived. For over fifty years, he had an affinity for hunting shorebirds. He carved several stands of shorebird decoys which primarily consisted of dowitchers and yellowlegs. This dowitcher is in a feeding pose.

Original paint with moderate wear, roughness to tip of the bill, hit by shot.
