Collected directly from Doily Fulcher, Jr in October, 2003.

Fulcher was born on Fulcher's Creek in the Piney Point community of Stacy, North Carolina. In 1939, he joined the Coast Guard and for thirty years served as a boatswain mate up and down the east coast. In 1943, he built a house in Stacy and returned as often as possible to hunt with family and friends. His son, Doily Earl Fulcher is an important author, historian, waterman, and decoy collector. This pintail is made in the Core Sound tradition in regards to form and paint.
