Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Ocracoke, North Carolina, circa 1910, carved and painted wood.

Length 18 in.

From the Personal Collection of Mr. Kroghie Andresen, Charlotte, North Carolina

Formerly from the collection of Tom Beach. It was purchased from him December 28, 1985. From the hunting rig of Sam Jones, Green Island Club.

Bragg is Ocracoke's most famous waterfowler. He guided many well- to-do sportsmen who wanted to hunt Ocracoke's storied waters. Dr. Edgar Burke gave Bragg a lot of recognition so many early collectors wanted to add a Bragg brant to their shelf.

Original paint with moderate gunning wear, age checks in body and head, some wood loss to the front right area of the base of the head.
