Oil on canvas, 1902, signed and dated at upper right corner, presented in a very fine gilt frame with ribbon crest.

Stretcher size 45 1/2 x 28 in.; Frame dimensions 60 1/4 x 41 in.

Jean de la Hougue first studied and practiced law, but soon left the field to enroll enroll at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. He exhibited at the Salon des artistes français, the Société nationale des beaux-arts, the Salon des indépendants, Salon des Tuileries, and the Exposition universelle in 1937.
