Soyer considered this now scarce print among his two most important lithographs, the other being The Mission. Both were preparatory prints for paintings, and he focuses here on creating a personality for each figure in the scene.

Very good condition; margins with few minor scuffs, light toning, and slight sheet waviness; piece of hinging tape upper left edge.
