One of the finest Swan Island Club decoys to surface as it is in rare original paint. James Coolidge Carter (1827-1905) was listed as a member when the club reorganized in 1883 until his death on February 14, 1905. Carter was a New York City attorney and founded the prestigious law firm Carter, Ledyard and Milburn in 1854.
