Two English Aesthetic Ebonized Side Chairs

Late 19th century, the first black ebonized field with gilt highlight, stick and ball vertical four spindle back splat, over upholstered seat (30 x 18 x 17 in., seat height 15 in.); the second black ebonized field with gilt highlight, concave back with stick and ball, kilim over-upholstered seat, faux bamboo splayed front legs (33.5 x 17.5 x 15 in., seat height 18 in.).

Both with later upholstered seats; both with original but with expected paint wear and loss.
