Circa 1740-60, tulip poplar secondary, shaped crest rail with scratch bead, central relief carved asymmetrical shell, scrolled ear terminus, shaped stiles with scratch bead, vasiform back splat set within a molded shoe, slip seat, flush molded seat rails with through tenon construction, front cabriole legs with distinctive raised pad foot, down-swept rear legs.

40.5 x 22.5 x 21 in., seat height 17.5 in.

Wood sample taken front slip seat frame, wood appears old but may not be original to the chair. An identification report from Alden Identification Service accompanies this lot.
