Peter Beckford (England, ca. 1740-ca. 1811) was a writer, hunter, and politician who lived in Dorset but spent a lot of time living and traveling in Italy. He is known for writing several books on fox hunting.

Boards with typical age wear, corners rubbed, cracking starting at joint, spine with repair at head and light chipping at tail; writing in French on front paste-down, small stain at head, pages lightly toned with expected offsetting, and occasional foxing and light grime, otherwise pages extremely clean; a very good and sturdy volume.
