The Currituck Shooting Club, North Carolina's oldest and most exclusive, has been described as the "Queen of Clubs". From its inception in 1857, this magnificent club provided a private retreat for renowned businessmen from New York. The club maintained a rig of cork body decoys made by Verity family members and other makers from Long Island. Early merganser decoys are rare.
