Michael Costello has been a full time artist for the last 30 years, with a focus on wood and stone sculpture as his medium. Michael graduated with an BFA degree in painting from Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina and a MFA degree in sculpture from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. He was awarded an NEA Emerging Artist Grant, and his works can be described as the joining of anthropomorphic and architectonic imagery, creating both static and kinetic works that are influenced by the simplicity and balance of Asian objects as well as ideas from architecture & archeology.

Some minor surface marks to upper stone elements, overall good estate condition.
