Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Both attributed to Fredericksburg, 19th century, the first a miniature rocking chair with shaped crest rail, cane back and seat, shaped stiles and scrolled arms, serpentine front seat rail, shaped notched rocker (13.5 x 9.5 x 14.5 in.); the second a side chair with finial posts with turned ring design, double horizontal splat, splint seat, stretcher base (19.75 x 13 x 9.5 in.).
From the Estate of the late Dr. Larry Southworth, Fredericksburg, Virginia Rocker: fair condition; break and repair at crest; wood break and loss at arm joint; later caning.
Side chair: seat is old with some breaks to right side; joint looseness; age appropriate wear.
