Attributed to Petersburg, circa 1760-70, red pine secondary, shaped crest rail, distinctive pierced back splat with heart in center and quatrefoil at base, molded shoe, flush seat rail, slip seat, straight leg with inside chamfer, flush stretcher base.

38 x 21 x 18 in., seat height 17.5 in.

Both chairs with break and repair to left side of crest by stile joints; both chairs with wood chips and loss at rear feet; later slip seats; missing two brace blocks in one chair (other blocks appear old and possibly original); both with tight shrinkage splits to splat.
