Pierre Le Faguays was born in Nantes, France, and became a leading figural sculptor synonymous with the Art Deco Movement, known for his idealized graceful depictions of the female form. Fayral and Guerbe were two pseudonyms the artist often used throughout his life. Pierre also produced designs for Goldscheider in Paris under the "La Stele" label. He worked in several mediums including ivory, bronze, spelter, stone, wood, alabaster and ceramics. Pierre gained a medal of honour for his work in 1927.
Pierre studied at the Ecole des Beau-Arts in Geneva, where he became life-long friends with Max Le Verrier of the Le Verrier foundry (French, active 1891-1973).

Scattered rubbing and verdigris to patina, else good estate condition.
