Gold and silver wrapped silk worked on cloth of gold, with gold purl, gold wire stumpwork, metallic spangles and sequins, originally a 19th century altar cloth, reworked as a bolster pillow with cotton damask back, the central motif a pelican feeding her young by piercing her own breast, surrounded by vining grape and wheat motifs, gold fringe to each side, with gold braiding around edge.
